Academic Delivery
The Academic delivery is learner-oriented, and the student has to be an active participant in the teaching-learning process. A multi-channel approach is followed for instruction. It comprises a suitable mix of:
- Study Material in the form of Self Instructional Material
- Online Classroom sessions
- Practical Lab Sessions
- Assignments
- Project Work
Study Material in the form of Self Instructional Material
Printed materials are the secondary form of instructional materials. As no single text book can cover the course content appropriately printed learning materials are designed to cover complete course content and ensures quality. Printed material is also designed to make the subject matter self-explanatory and easy to understand. These are supplied to the learners in the form of books.
Online Classroom Sessions
Around 300 hrs of online live class room sessions are conducted regularly throughout the program to facilitate the learning process. These online live class room sessions are conducted through over iLinc a web collaborative tool. Students can join the online live class room session over internet form their home, office or any cyber cafe. Attendance for these sessions is mandatory.
Practical Lab Sessions
To enhance the student learning through hands on experience, practical sessions are to be conducted for two days [16 hours] per semester. There are totally five lab sessions which will be conducted over five semesters. The practical sessions will be conducted with the support of Local Engineering colleges in the major cities across India. These sessions will be conducted over weekends.
Assignments
Purpose of assignments is to test student’s ability of comprehension of the concerned subject / topic given in the study material. Since assignments carry weightage towards the final grade, students must pay full attention in doing this exercise.
Project Work
The Students are required to undergo Project Work in the Industry/ R & D organization/ Place of work (If Suitable) during Sixth Semester as a part of curriculum of B.Tech. The Project Work should be relevant to the discipline and it can be a real time project from any industry with one supervisor from Industry and one from Premier Academic Institute with prior approval from the University.
