Academic Delivery

The methodology of instruction is learner-oriented, and the student has to be an active participant in the teaching-learning process. A multi-channel approach is followed for instruction. It comprises a suitable mix of:

• Customized Self Instructional Material (SIM) for self study
• Online Classroom Sessions: The interaction is live and uses high quality video, audio and data at any place of convenience
• Assignments and case studies are integral part of learning
• Digital Library
• Project work

Self Instructional Printed Material (SIM)
Printed materials are the primary form of instructional materials. Improvement in quality is ensured through SIMs because no single text book can cover the course content appropriately. Also SIMs are designed to make the subject matter self-explanatory and easy to understand. The SIM is divided into blocks consisting of several units. Each unit is sized in such a manner that it can be studied in a session of about 3 to 4hours.

Faculty led PCP Sessions
PCP or 'Personal Contact Programs' support the self learning study material. These sessions are conducted through out the year and attendance is mandatory. Schedules for these lectures are intimated at the beginning of the semester to candidates. These sessions provide opportunity for interactive education and enrich learners' knowledge by directing it to practice.

Assignments and Case study
The main purpose of assignments is to test students' comprehension and value addition from the study material they receive from the delivery and also to help them successfully complete the courses by providing feedback to them. Assignments carry 25% weightage towards final result. Students will not be allowed to appear in the examination if they do not submit the assignments before the commencement of the examination.

Digital Library
As part of the curriculum, students will have access to online resources and reference material that will help them in their learning process. Archived class sessions are also available online for reference purposes.

Project Work
Very central feature of this program is that it is planned around project work. The objective of the project work is to help the student develop the ability to apply the concepts learned and to bring about an improvement in the work environment.
